President's Message :

Hunger, not a myth”

Hunger is a condition of poverty mainly believed by most to be found only in third world countries. To date, it has become clear that hunger in America is no longer a tale of the past.  In fact, a 2009 report on Household Food Insecurity in the United States (USDA) shows staggering number of Americans at risk of hunger.  Surely, it is safe to state that the report of 49 millions of Americans surveyed does not take in to accounts the tens of millions of families affected by job loss during the year of 2009, as these numbers reflect the state of the nation in 2008.  Vicki Escarra, President and CEO Of Feeding America, the nation largest charitable hunger relief organization  puts it simply “ it is tragic that so many people in this nation of plenty don’t have access to adequate amounts of nutritious food”   Humans United For Action ( HUFAC) recognizes that hunger has been ravaging our community for a longtime.  Now, the time comes for more individuals or groups like HUFAC to get involved and actively seeks alternative ways to combat hunger and alleviate its effects in the community and around the nation.

HUFAC- Humans Against Hunger

Humans United for action (HUFAC) stands to make a difference in the fight against hunger. Humans against Hunger are a worldwide campaign that is launched to inspire, mobilize every citizen of the world to take action against hunger. It starts with oneself to recognize and want to help those that are less fortunate in our community. While this hunger epidemic has long been an issue in our society, it sure will not be resolved overnight. And understanbly so, Humans United for Action in collaboration with other advocate groups, churches , shelters, private sectors and volunteers around the nation  organize every year a “Walk For hunger” march that is to display all the sectors or groups affected by hunger and the issues around this epidemic.
